Growing Beyond Ourselves

Five years......five years ago I opened my little etsy shop with a handful of bird nest necklaces. I never dreamed that my desire to share tiny bits of beauty would grow to my very full time; every-day-all-day-and-sometimes-all-night job. Sure it has its rough times and as any artist, maker or entrepreneur would tell you there are times when you just want to quit, but I can not imagine doing anything else with my life now.

My deepest desire is to bring beauty out of the ordinary and share it with you.

When I chose the name Created Beautifully it was because the name summed up more than the pieces I wanted to create but rather a philosophy I wanted to convey. The idea that everything and everyone is indeed Created Beautifully.

So in the midst of a planet that feels like it is crumbling sometimes what does pretty jewelry and hand bags have to do with making our world a better place? I've asked myself the same question more times than I can tell you. I have felt like my hands were tied. And although Created Beautifully supports a few charities on a monthly basis I just long to do more.

To kick off our fifth year we will now be donating 10% of every online sale (both here and on etsy) to our featured Cause of the Month! I am very excited about doing this, not only to raise funds for these different charities that are very near and dear to me, but also to raise awareness.

For September we would like to introduce you to Compassion to Act a local Charlotte based organization that ministers to victims of labor and sex trafficking. They are doing incredible work and we are so proud to support them. I would encourage you to visit the website to learn more about how Compassion To Act is bringing beauty to people who may feel they have lost that part of who they are.
